The North Bergen Police Department is pleased to announce their 6th Annual D.A.R.E. Day on Wednesday, June 7, 2006 at the Stan Newman Sports Complex, from 9:00 am until 2:30pm (in the event of rain, it will be held on Friday, June 9). Officer Joe Sitty and Officer Arthur Del have created an event that continues to grow each year and celebrates the graduation of their 5th grade D.A.R.E. students. This year's event will feature a D.A.R.E. vehicle car show, in which the D.A.R.E. Graduates select three favorite vehicles. Police cars, trucks, motorcycles, go-carts and any other specialty vehicles are welcome to participate.

All D.A.R.E. cars that enter the car show will receive a dashboard plaque. A registration form is necessary in order to register your D.A.R.E. vehicle in the car show. You can print it, fill it out and then fax it to 201-271-0370.

Some of the other activities that will be at this year's D.A.R.E. Day are as follows:

• New Jersey Party Works/Rock Wall Climb & Air Filled Apparatus
  Helicopter & Humvee display by the New Jersey National Guard & New Jersey State Police
• Marine Corps Reserves will display some of its vehicles that are being used in Iraq
• Monster Truck Display by Sudden Impact Racing-John Seasock
• Motorcycle Stunt Show-John Seasock
• Performance by Lori Michael & The Reach Out Dancers
• North Hudson Regional Fire Department will display their Smoke House Trailer and pumper truck wet down (weather permitting)
• Pass, Dribble & Shoot by the NY/NJ Metro Stars Soccer Team
• Officer Mark Fabriccatore of the Bayonne Police Department will be the special DJ
• An appearance by DAREN the D.A.R.E. Lion & McGruff the Crime Dog
• New York’s #1 Radio Station Z100 will bring their Party Patrol

The students from the 5th grade D.A.R.E. Program would be eligible to participate in this event. Approximately 650 students will be involved.
